How it works:

  • book a consultation;

  • With an accepted proposal, I can be on site, often in less than 5 business days

Interim Leadership

In a perfect world, when someone leaves your organization either short-term (sick leave, parental leave, etc.) or longer-term (retirement), there is a succession plan that has identified someone ready to take on the vacant role.  It doesn't always work out this way.  Whether it's a non-profit, government, or private sector role, I can assume the vacant role on an interim basis while staffing the longer-term replacement (if applicable) takes place.  I bring a wide variety of experience and a fresh perspective to assist your organization in achieving its goals.

  • I'll develop a proposal based on your requirements, timeline and budget;
  • With an accepted proposal, I can be on site, often in less than 5 business days

Fractional Executive

Is your organization growing? Facing challenges that are beyond your expertise?  I can bring flexible, high-level strategic leadership to your organization on an ongoing or project-by-project basis.  Non-profits, start-ups and growing small and medium businesses sometimes need access to strategic leadership without the expense or commitment of a full-time employee.  Depending on your requirements, I can be on site one to five days a week to help your organization meet its objectives.

FAQs

I am based in Halifax, Nova Scotia Canada.  I am available in person in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island (not including travel expenses).  Other locations across Canada are available virtually or in person (not including travel expenses)

Consulting work starts at $80/hour Canadian plus expenses - rates and level of effort to be negotiated based on the approved proposal.

Interim and Fractional work are negotiated and rates are based on the pro-rated salary range for the position plus expenses.

I operate as a contractor in both Interim and Fractional positions.  This means that there are no benefits, no payroll, no paid leave - just a monthly invoice to pay as I work towards our agreed objectives.  As a contractor, this also means that we are not in an employer-employee relationship - I can continue contract work for other clients.  Contract work for other clients will not interfere with my contract with you.

I pride myself on my values and ethics and I want to have a great relationship of mutual trust with my clients.  If there is a real or apparent conflict of interest identified during our initial consultation I will advise you and ultimately we will not likely be able to work together.  A common conflict of interest would be contracts in the same industry or direct competitors - I will not take on contracts for direct competitors.   I use a Conflict of Interest Screening Tool to achieve this.

Land Acknowledgement

I would like to acknowledge that I am in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq People. I recognize the Mi'kmaq as the past, present, and future caretakers of this land, which is covered by the Treaties of Peace and Friendship, affirmed by the Supreme Court of Canada, and which remain in effect today.  We are all treaty people.
